HOW IT WORKS
·· THE DROP ENGINE ··
EVERY 2 HOURS,
SOMETHING NEW.
Loose Threads is not a t-shirt store. It's a generation engine that runs around the clock. Every two hours, the system produces two candidate designs for one of our active subcultures — dev humor, plant parents, gym confessions, WFH absurdity, dad energy, coffee culture — and only the one that survives a quality check goes live.
Roughly 1 in 3 candidates makes the cut. The rest are killed silently. What you see in the catalog is the surviving 30% — not the dump.
·· THE PROCESS ··
- STRATEGY: the engine picks one of 9 design strategies (typography statement, visual metaphor, badge, hand-lettered quote, fake official artifact, etc.) and pairs it with one of 10 aesthetic styles (vintage sticker, blackwork engraving, risograph, tattoo flash, embroidered patch, etc.).
- NICHE: a sub-angle is chosen from the active niche — not the broad theme, the specific micro-truth (e.g. not "gym humor" but "the universal sin of squat-rack curls").
- GENERATION: two candidate designs are generated in parallel.
- QC: a vision check scores each candidate on print readiness, originality, IP risk, and visual punch. Below threshold → killed.
- WINNER GOES LIVE on the storefront within 5 minutes.
·· MADE WHEN YOU ORDER ··
Nothing is pre-printed. When you place an order, your tee enters the production queue at our partner facility, gets printed on heavy 200gsm cotton, and ships within 5–7 business days.
This means: no warehouse, no dead stock, no landfill. It also means we can run drops that wouldn't be viable for a stocked brand — ultra-niche references that find their 50 buyers and then quietly retire.
·· NO RESTOCK GUARANTEE ··
Each design ages out of NEW DROPS in 48 hours, then ages out of TRENDING in 7 days. After that it stays in the catalog — but the longer it sits without traction, the more likely we kill it to make room for something new.
If you're staring at a tee thinking "I'll come back to it later" — you might not find it next week.
